Looking at the ... View MoreThursday, 1st, January, Fillydelphia High Ice Hockey Rink. 3rd quarter, 5 minutes left. The score is 3-1. Ponyville High gathers around their coach after he's just called a time out. Looking at the faces of his team, Nar can tell most of them are demoralized. With 5 minutes left in the game, they aren't sure they can make 2 goals, and tie it up. Their goalie, Red, is clearly pretty beaten up about letting up 3 goals. Usually, Nar wouldn't care all that much if they won, or lost a game, but their record is on thin ice right now. Too many losses, and the school board is going to cut the hockey team entirely. They NEED to win this game. He knows that, and so do the boys. The entire future, or lack of one, of the Ponyville High School Hockey team is on their shoulders, and they're definitely feeling the weight. Nar claps his hands together to get the team's attention. All eyes fall on him. "Take a moment. Catch your breath. Do your best to push all those negative thoughts you're having to the side for now." Nar points to the scoreboard, particularly, the 5 minutes on the clock. "Focus on the present. You've got 5 minutes on the clock. As long as that clock is above 0, you've got time to fight! 2 goals! That's all we need! So, let's focus on figuring out how we're gonna get those two goals! Neither victory, nor defeat are assured until that clock says 00:00!" After he's finished, Nar inspects the faces of the team. Most seem to have taken his words to heart. They look ready to get back out on the ice, and give it their all! Some still seem quite disheartened, but Nar gets the feeling that will change if they team can just manage one goal. Once the time out ends, the two teams meet at center ice for the face off. Not 30 seconds later, Earl puts one into the net to make the score 3-2. Now heartened, his teammates push the attack, keeping Fillydelphia high on the back foot for the rest of the match. When the timer hits 0, the score is 3-4. Nar is absolutely holding a pizza party for them after their next practice! #rp
