11:41 PM, Winston Arcane Technologies HQ, Vanhoover. A security officer patrols the grounds of the headquarters. He's just one of many of the top-notch security officers employed by the company. With... View More11:41 PM, Winston Arcane Technologies HQ, Vanhoover. A security officer patrols the grounds of the headquarters. He's just one of many of the top-notch security officers employed by the company. With tech provided by the company itself, he, and his colleagues are almost, just barely, better equipped than the common mall security officer. The guard passes through a large hallway with one side made entirely of windows. On the other side of the windows sits the HQ's courtyard. Three sides are surrounded by the building, while the last is left open, so the courtyard is proudly displayed for all on the street to see. In the middle of the courtyard, a tarp rests over a large, vertical object. The guard passes into a different hallway, where he then loses sight of the courtyard. After around 4 minutes of peaceful, quiet patrol, the guard's radio beeps, and a voice comes through. "Hey, Baker. Picked up some sort of blur in the courtyard just now. Go check it out." The guard radios in to confirm, then pivots on his heel to jog back to the courtyard. When he arrives, he uses a door within the windows to exit into the courtyard. Using a high powered flashlight, the guard surveys the courtyard before moving in to investigate further. The guard checks every inch of the courtyard up and down. Every bench, every shrub, every display. He even goes to check under the tarp at one point, but can't find a way to lift it enough to see inside. After a thorough sweep, the guard turns to head back inside. He lifts his radio to his mouth. "Didn't see anything in the courtyard." The other voice responds. "Copy. Resume your patrol route." About 3 minutes later, as the guard is passing through one of the HQ's many cubicle areas, his radio beeps again. "Saw that blur in the courtyard again. Either the camera is malfunctioning, or you missed something on your sweep. Go back, and check again." Sure enough, when the guard goes back to check, his sweep comes up empty. He still can't find a way to peek under the tarp either. He radios in, and the voice on the other end responds. "Guess we'll need to get the tech guys on that first thing tomorrow morning. Resume your patrol route. I'll check the recordings and see if they caught anything." With that, the guard returns to his patrol. This time, there aren't any more interruptions. #rp
