View MoreIt's been two days since Nar went missing, and there hasn't been any progress in the police investigation into his whereabouts. As far as everyone can tell, he just completely vanished the night before his birthday. His family is hopeful though. Similar situations have happened before, and Nar has always made it back safe. They may not know where he is, but they have faith he'll find his way back. There's a more pressing matter at hand though. The family trusts Autumn to take care of Cookie on her own, but Cookie feel uncomfortable in her own home at the moment. After some discussion, Cookie has decided to stay with her aunts for the time being. Originally, they wanted her to stay with her grandparents, but Cookie doesn't want to be near her house right now. Of course, both Asuka, and Hiari, and their parents have extended the offer for Autumn to stay with them if she wants. The guest bedroom has been converted into a bedroom for Cookie. Giving her a place where she can have some privacy. Hiari has managed to get some extended family leave in order to look after Cookie so Asuka can continue to work. Tonight, however, Asuka has the night off. After a nice dinner, a bath, and a bedtime story, Cookie is put to bed, and Asuka is left as the only member of the house still awake. Well into the night, as Asuka is getting ready to go to sleep herself. The room is bathed in dim light from her bedside lamp. It provides just enough light for her to read the novel she's been reading for the past week. A few pages before bed have proven quite effective in helping her get to sleep. The soft pitter patter of feet from the hallway pulls Asuka's attention towards the door. The footsteps stop just in front of her bedroom door. Shortly followed by a few soft knocks, and her niece's voice. "Auntie?" Even through the door, Asuka can hear how shaky Cookie's voice is. "Come in. Cookie." Asuka calls. The door slowly opens, and little Cookie shuffles into the room, visibly shaking. Instantly, Asuka slides out of bed, scooping Cookie up into her arms. She closes her door with her foot as she turns around to head back to her bed. "Oh, sweetie. What's wrong?" Sitting on Asuka's bed together, Cookie tells her aunt about a nightmare she just had. She says she had a nightmare about a monster that came into her room at her house. She says that the monster looked like her papa, but she knows it wasn't her papa. It looked older than her papa, and look really mean. For some reason, Cookie's description of her nightmare stirs memories in Asuka's mind. Jumbled up pieces of trauma that slowly piece together to form proper memories. When the realization hits, her blood runs cold. She's talking about him. It HAS to be, but why would Cookie be having a dream about him? She's never even heard of... that THING before. The implications are almost too much for Asuka. Though, she doesn't let her horror show. She needs to comfort Cookie, and children are really good at picking up on emotions. That night, Asuka sleeps with her niece beside her, and a handgun under her pillow. #rp
