However, as she leans against the driver-side door, there's a click from a lever-action near her, easily identifiable. She doesn't even bother looking around, and just leans in the window, expecting one of two voices. The one she gets is a younger stallion, sounding country as hell. "Well ya came back, holy shit. Waw. Aintchu just pretty as hell now Honey-even cut yer hair'n shit. So scary..." the voice is jeering. "Unc' wants our money back. Where is it ya little shit." She turns her head to see the barrel of the rifle pointed at her, in the hooves of a lanky stallion, with a coat her same color, same freckles, but a more dirty-blonde mane. "Mmmmmm...gone, Bravey Crockett, just like your sense of dignity and half your teeth. and before you going doing anything stupid..." she pulls her police badge out of her flannel shirt, waving it. "Equestria PD, and I'm clocking in, in two hours. I go missing, and they're gonna have one place to come looking for me. So let's put that gun down, use the remaining two brain cells ya got." she's smirking, it's been a while since she's seen her cousin, and she's glad she's not restrained this time, and that she's confident enough to rib him. He doesn't seem to take to it kindly, his cheeks going red as he gets angrier and angrier. "Yew...YEW Lil SHIT!? You go stealin' from US and you THink ya can-YEW FUCKER-" he moves the rifle down...aiming for her leg? She doesn't have time to dive for cover, only dive towards him... There's a crack of the gunshot as she feels the bullet pass through her hindleg, but she's already grabbed him with her forehooves...which is bad news for the stallion. The rifle clatters to the dirt as the stallion's pained shrieks fill the air, punctuated by the sounds of heavy hoof strikes and bones snapping. It's a good thing her truck is already a dark, rusty red, so no blood spatter shows...

This is probably the worst day of the year for her. But it doesn't change the fact she has a custom, and she'll follow it, no matter how much it hurts. She pulls her truck up to the town's outskirts, near a cemetary. She's made sure to keep the engine down low, quiet...like she doesn't want to disturb anyone. Even her motions to open and close the door are quiet. She grabs a hand-picked bundle of flowers from the truck bed, slipping into the morning-cool graveyard, passing under fruit trees and between headstones towards a spot on the edge of the graveyard grounds. She slows as she finds the two stones she's looking for, cheap plaques in the ground, bronze, with names on them. She brushes some grass clippings and weeds away from each plaque, before dividing the flowers up between them. After finishing, she sits down between them, staring at the right plaque in silence for a while. It takes a bit, but...she eventually starts talking, softly. "...I'm still in. You'd be proud of me. I'm in the force, and I ain't cracked yet. Even found some people I don't hate. There's...still okay people in the world. You were right. They're hard to find and I have to wade through about a thousand shitdicks to find the nice people, but they're out there. I think I helped a few people this year. I guess." she sighs as she brushes the headstone. "I...don't really remember the ones I help. I remember the ones I couldn't. They stay with me." she can't stop the tears rolling down her cheeks. "How did you do it dad? You always came home, with a fuckin' smile on your face, every day. You always scooped me up and hugged me tight, with so much love in ya, every day...even though you was dealin' with shit every day I KNOW you was...damn it...what do you have that I ain't got? Am I not cut out for this? Daddy I wish you were here, to tell me how to do this..." she collapses on the gravestone, sobbing her tears out on the warm metal as she buries her face against it.
