Before... View MoreThe tired fires of the Mystic Flame flickered along the walls of a dull room. Enclosed and silencing the light from outside. Only the auburn and ethereal purple remained, the crackle and singe. Before the flickering power sat a single unicorn, her wisteria-purple eyes peering down upon it, dulled by the emptiness she felt within. Today was the day. All roads had been traveled, all paths explored, but yet she felt so...empty. A travesty that ought not be forgotten. So she wrote one last note in the book of the Witch of Honeydew; Lunaria. Lunaria took in a slow breath, enjoying the honeysuckle and lavender smoke the Mystic Flame produced. She was ready for what came next, calmed by the aroma brought on by her creation. It had been many years since Lunaria had been around the ponies of Equestria. She'd witnessed the end of times, as night became all, and all became none. She'd only wished things could have been different. The door opened, a cool breeze entering the room, and enough to wick the last energy from the Mystic Flame. The fire died out. With a click, the door shut, and Witch Lunaria turned to face the one whom had entered. A pegasus, silent, standing tall, and unwavering in the faded light. "You've come for me. Thou arth on time," the witch surmized. "As expected." "Dost thou wish for one final lesson?" the witch asked. "No. It is time to end this. You've wasted enough of my time." "Fair." The witch let out a sad sigh. She was still young, but this was expected. A witch was an enemy, after all. Lunaria charged her horn, but was no match for the gauntlets worn by a hunter of this skill. It happened quick, faster than a silver spear, and ended in a single move. The pegasus held the slowly fading witch, head lowered. "I am sorry." "Do not be sorry. A witch knows her time, surely. I am honored to be slain by a Godhunter," the witch smiled weakly, looking at the pegasus. "Stella." "You know me well. Lunaria, sorry...Aurora, I will do my best to change the code of the Godhunter. We should not kill...this is unfair." The pegasus, Stella, flicked her wings, squeezing Lunaria close. "Forgive me, for ought has sinned, and sin is ended by sin. My Light Guide Thee." Lunaria watched the ceiling fade into a slow, black, nothingness. The last vision she held was the rekindle of the Mystic Flame. Auburn and ethereal purple returned to life. Someday, the witch could return. Someday, she'd live a life of a normal pony. Someday... Some...day... A single grave had been dug, and buried there was a lone witch. The headstone read, Aurora "Lunaria" Sparkle - The Forgiven Witch of Honeydew Stella stood guard of this grave. Stella remains to this day. Stella is forever here, of stone and ash, guarding the grave of a forgotten friend. But Aur-... Lunaria has awoken. The Eternal Mythic Flame burns on.
