Which means it's a perfect day for fishing! On a boat out in the middle of a lake, just south of Vanhoover, Nar, his father Kisho, Juno, and Roy sit listening to calm bluegrass music. All but Roy sit with a fishing rod in their hands, or resting in a nook in front of them. In the middle of the boat rests a table with built in cup holders. All but one carrying some kind of bottled, or canned drink. Below the table sits a cooler filled with drinks, and snacks. After what feels like an hour of silence, Roy decides to break it with a simple "Yup." Followed by a swig from a bottle of beer. Across from him, Nar looks over his shoulder. His face contorts as he notices the bottle in his hand. "Dude. It's 10 AM, why are you drinking beer?" Roy lifts the bottle up. "Relax dude. It's non-alcoholic." Beside him, Kisho adds "Come now, Nar. You know I wouldn't bring anything but the best on a trip like this." Nar's head turns back towards the water. "Right. I forgot you left the sake back in the cabin. I guess Roy just likes the taste of dirt." Juno lets out a small snicker next to Nar. Roy rolls his eyes. "Oh grow up." Suddenly, Nar sits up in his seat, grabbing his fishing pole with both hands. "Finally, a bit!- Woah!" Nar is flung up out of his seat, nearly flipping over the railing of the boat, and into the water. His feet slam into the corner where the floor meets the rail with a loud 'CRASH', and Nar just barely stops himself from going overboard. Juno quickly hops up from his chair to grab his friend, and steady him. On the other side of the boat, Kisho stands, and backs as far away as he can to give the boat some balance. The sound of Nar's line rapidly being taken fills the boat, until it goes taught. Roy watches in a mixture of awe, and concern as Nar's face turns a bright red, and his muscles begin to visibly bulge under his shirts. He can see Nar trying to reel in his line, but it looks more like he's trying to churn concrete with his bare hands. The rod itself is bent so far it might snap at any moment! "Shit dude! Cut the line!" He calls out. Nar grunts, and huffs, taking a step backwards. "I." He jerks the rod backwards. "Will!" He's pulled forward again, feet pressing up against the railing once more. "Not!" Another grunt, and Nar manages to step back again. "Lose!" He begins to reel in once more. "TO A FISH!" His last words escape as a primal roar, and suddenly, Nar begins to reel in with a strength, and fury Roy has never seen before. A battle of strength ensues, with Nar slowly, but surely dragging his catch closer, and closer to the boat. It thrashes desperately, kicking up water as it does. Then, with a mighty heave, Nar pulls the rod upwards, and the fish breaches the surface momentarily. Roy gapes. Juno almost loses his grip on Nar. Kisho does not react. What emerges from the water is a catfish, almost the size of a small child. It splashes back down into the water sending a great fountain up into the sky! Halfway there now! Nar's grunts, heavy breaths, reeling of his line, and the splashing of water are all that can be heard for what feels like an eternity. The back and forth continues, with Nar slowly gaining more, and more ground. Then, the catfish seems to have a second wind, and Nar is slammed into the rail again as it surges away! "Oh! No! You! DON'T!" Nar lets out another roar, heaves backwards, and then! Nar tumbles backwards, toppling Juno with him. The two sprawl on the floor of the boat, with Nar panting heavily. As Juno begins to stand, and help his friend to his feet, Kisho moves to inspect Nar's line. Sure enough, it's gone slack. Reeling it in reveals that the line snapped, letting the catfish get away. As his son gets to his feet, Kisho pats his shoulder. "A valiant effort, my son." Nar clenches his fist, and looks off in the direction the catfish last swam. "I'll get you yet... Just you wait." #rp
