He managed to d... View MoreIt was hard for Nar to drop Cookie off at school today. After 2 weeks of(mostly) uninterrupted daddy-daughter time, he wasn't looking forward to her being gone for 8 hours a day again. He managed to drop her off at school this morning without tearing up though, so that's progress! Now, Nar sits at the desk in his room, going over the statistics from last weeks game. They're more than halfway through the season, and they NEED to make it to the postseason, or the school board is likely to axe the team. In the middle of his work, Nar hears the door to his back porch open, and close. Instantly, alarm bells are going off in his head. He knows he locked it. His friends, and family would have texted, or called him if they planned to visit. Did someone break in? Nar stands from his desk, grabbing the new aluminum bat he keeps in his room after he "lost" his old one. "Rudo. Come." Nar utters a command, and his service dog, Rudo, walks up beside him. Together, the two exit Nar's room, and head towards the living room. As he gets halfway through the hallway, Nar can hear a female voice, humming in the kitchen. That's not Autumn's voice. It's... A mixture of paranoia, and rage boils up within Nar's chest. That CAN'T be her. Aki was sentenced to 3 years in jail after she broke into his house months ago. Calm down Nar. You took your meds this morning, but they're not guaranteed to get rid of your symptoms. Remember what the psychiatrist taught you. Stepping into the doorway of his kitchen, Nar sees a face he'd much rather forget. Aki moves about his kitchen, humming a tune as she bakes cookies. When she notices him, she stops, and begins to fawn over him. "Rudo. Greet." Nar's command causes Rudo to look into the kitchen. He then looks back to Nar, and sits down. There's nobody there. "Ooooh my darling!~" Aki coos. Ignore her. She's not real. "Won't you help me with these cookies?" You need to sit down. Deep breaths, breathing exercises. Put on some music. Nar realizes how quick, and shallow his breathing has become. He shuffles his way into his living room, and practically falls backwards onto his recliner. Rudo hops up beside him, laying his head on Nar's chest to comfort him. Hands shaking, Nar fumbles in his pockets for his earbuds. He pops them into his ear, then pulls out his phone to turn on some music. Aki leaves the kitchen, and enters the living room. Go. Away. Leave me alone! FUCK OFF! Rudo nudges Nar's chin with his snout, pulling him out of his thoughts. Focus on Rudo. Pet him. Listen to your music. Deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out. After 5 minutes, Nar slowly allows himself to come out of his thoughts. Aki is gone. When he removes his earbuds, he can't hear her voice. Heaving a deep sigh of relief, Nar lays his head back on his recliner to recuperate a little before he goes back to his work. #rp
