A lesson that Nar has learned the hard way many, many times. The moment Nar heard of what happened to Autumn, he rushed to the hospital to be with her. Unfortunately, the doctors were only allowing family to see her at the time. He sat in the waiting room with Rudo the whole day, but the doctors never changed their minds. When visiting hours were over, Nar went back home to worry, and fret even more than he did in the waiting room. That night, Nar's parents come over to check on him, and make dinner. Nar is thankful, but he can't stop thinking about Autumn. His parents stay until it's time for Cookie to head to bed, then, they remind Nar to call them if he needs them, and leave. After Cookie has been put to bed, Nar passes out in his own room. Exhausted from his hart racing the whole day. His bed rocks beneath him. Nar's eyes shoot open. His bed isn't there anymore. Instead, it's the rubble of a set of stone stairs. All around him is a void, filled with debris. Familiarity creeps up on him, and soon, terror grips his heart. His blood turns to ice. Amy is in trouble. Barely able to control his movements, Nar pulls himself up to peer over the edge of the stairs. It's not Amy. It's Autumn. She's battered, and barely hanging on to the edge of the rubble with one hand. Nar's mouth hangs open. His mind screams at him to reach for his rope, but his body has completely stopped responding! Something begins to buffet his back repeatedly. He can't tear his gaze away from Autumn to look. Slowly, his right arm extends downwards. A desperate, but futile attempt to save Autumn. Her fingers slip. Nar feels the force on his back grow stronger. Autumn begins to fall, then- Nar awakens on his bed. He feels Rudo jump on his back a few times before he finally flips himself over. Rudo whimpers, licking his face to make sure he's awake. Nar reaches up to pet Rudo, but he's in too much shock to thank him. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a figure in the corner of his room. As the shock wears off, the figure becomes more defined. The more defined it becomes, the larger the pit in Nar's stomach grows. "Amy." He barely chokes the name out. The figure stares back at him. Impassive. "Please." He croaks. "Don't do this." Amy does not respond. Her eyes remain locked with his. "Amy!" He cries out. Rudo turns to look to the corner, then immediately hops up to start licking Nar's face. Nar tries to plead with Amy, but all that comes out are blubbering sobs. Rudo begins to bark, trying to get his attention. Voices begin to close in from all sides. Suddenly, Nar is surrounded by whispers. They curse him. They belittle him. They hate him. Nar's breathing becomes rapid, and shallow. Rudo continues to bark. Amy's gaze doesn't break. "Papa!" A scared cry joins the other voices. Nar doesn't realize it until Cookie has thrown herself onto him. The ice in his veins is replaced by a familiar warmth. Slowly, the whispers peter out. Amy's form begins to loose definition, until she eventually fades back into the darkness. As Nar becomes lucid, he begins to grasp what's happened. "I'm okay, pumpkin." Nar whispers to Cookie, gently stroking the back of her head. She holds on to him as though he would be blown away if she let go. Rudo snuggles up beside the two, adding to the warmth. Cookie whimpers into her father's chest. As the icy feeling in his body dissipates, Nar takes a moment to think. His hallucinations haven't been this bad before. His therapist did say his hallucinations could get worse if he felt strong negative emotions. His medication is supposed to help with that though. Before, it-.... Wait. he DIDN'T take his medication today. He was so worried about Autumn, that he'd left his house without taking it. Come to think of it, Rudo had been barking pretty fiercely when Nar dragged him out of the door. He was trying to remind him about his medication. Deep breaths. In...2...3...4... Out...2...3...4...5...6. Nar doesn't finish his breathing exercises. He simply passes out before he manages to. #rp
