With schedules lining up, Nar's managed to g... View MoreThe best thing about summer, is the ways you avoid having to deal with summer heat. Everyone knows that the best way to do that is to go to the water park! With schedules lining up, Nar's managed to grab a fairly sizeable group to come with him, and Cookie today. The group consists of Nar, Autumn, Cookie, Juno, Asuka, Hiari, and Cookie's two best friends, Silver, and Chrome. With the mid-afternoon sun beating down on the park, the group is looking for their next activity. They've splashed around in some pools, floated in a lazy river, and gone down a few water slides. One of which, only Nar was crazy enough to try. Nobody else wanted to get into the tube where they drop you down the slide without warning. It's been an hour since he went down the slide, and he can still feel hints of adrenaline just thinking about it! After a quick stop for some snow cones, Cookie is the one that finds the next attraction. She practically drags her father along the walkways of the park in order to get to it. Approaching the attraction itself, the group is met with the sight of a giant structure made of colorful pipes with a large bucket hanging overhead. The squeals of children come from inside, and around as the pipes splash them with water. The rest of the group makes their way to the structure with haste, but Asuka notices Nar's gait slowing. She sees the kind of thousand yard stare in his eyes that she's seen in some of her patients from law enforcement, or military veterans. She sidles up beside her brother to speak with him as privately as she can, given their current location. "Hey. You okay? Do you want to sit this one out?" It takes a moment, but Nar eventually shakes his head. "No. No. I'm fine. Just-." The surprised squeal of a teenage girl from inside the structure causes Nar to freeze up entirely. Asuka can see his eyes start to dart around, as if searching for some hidden danger. A teenage girl lets out a scream of shock. The sound of grinding metal grows loud in his ears. The girl stops screaming for just a moment. She lets out one last cry of agony, then... There's a hand on his shoulder. Asuka's head turns towards the rest of the group. They're all looking at him now. Asuka says something, and the rest of the group continues without him. Asuka takes Nar by the shoulders, and guides him to a table to sit for a while. While his daughter, fiance, friends, and family splash, and play inside the pipe structure, Nar sits outside, trying to fight of the thoughts that pop into his head. It's just a water park. Not the Astral Highway System. It's just an attraction that splashes people with water, and stuff. It's not going to close in, and crush them. Take a breather, Nar. They're going to be okay. #rp
