I hope you’re all doing really well <3 there’s a lot of things that aren’t super great happening just about everywhere, but there’s also lots of good things. crows, for instance! I walk home after work in the early morning, and I see a lot of crows on the second half of my walk. some days, they get super chatty, just hoppin places and screaming. other times they just hang about. I think they know where I live, actually! I like to leave out peanuts for them. sometimes they try to pick up multiple peanuts at a time and just look really goofy, like :v n they’ve got like, three stacked up in their lil beaks. it’s very good.
be like crows!! you deserve nice things. you just gotta figure out how to balance them all. in your beak? idk, I might be slightly mentally exhausted. I wanted to write, but I can’t seem to focus on anything serious at the moment, so here’s a meandering post about crows! did I need to post this publicly on the internet? no, but I did anyway, and you read it, so??

sometimes I just want to go into a hidden glen somewhere in the forest and have a tea party, but a quiet one where we can hear the calls of birds in the trees around and glimpse a young deer passing in the distance. no one feels like they have to talk over that kind of quiet. it would be in the late afternoon, when the light from the sun turns golden and almost hazy, and last until the frogs and crickets are chirping. once the tea is gone and it's late, the stars are all visible above, because there's no light pollution to ruin the view. the longer you stare, the more stars you can make out, until the vastness of the universe reduces every worry and problem into something small and manageable. there are so many stars, even in the patches of the sky that seem empty...

surviving and being happy is a series of little steps, and that may seem overwhelming when you’re looking ahead, so… try looking back sometimes. see how far those little steps have already taken you.
