View MoreWhen Asuka got a text in the band group chat this morning, she was expecting it to be someone asking if they wanted to meet for breakfast. She was quite surprised when it turned out to be Nar, calling an emergency band meeting for this afternoon. What surprised her even more was that he asked for Asuka to bring Hiari with her.
Now that Asuka, Juno, and Nar were all in Nar's basement recording studio, she understood it all. Despite his outwardly calm appearance, Asuka can see a deep, seething rage boiling in his eyes. The last time she saw that in his eyes, 4 men ended up in a hospital, and he ended up in a detention center. It's clear that Juno can see it too.
"I'm guessing you didn't call us here to plan a gig." Says Juno, the first to speak since the two arrived. Nar simply shakes his head. Then, he practically spits out the name "Aki." Juno's eyes narrow. Asuka shifts in her seat. Just hearing her name fills Asuka with disgust. "Aki?" Juno asks, eyebrow raising. At this, Nar takes a deep breath.
"When I picked Cookie up from school yesterday, the front office told me someone else had tried to pick her up before I did. They showed me the camera footage of it. It was Aki." There's a long pause. When Nar speaks again, his voice is little more than a growl through gritted teeth. "She tried to kidnap Cookie." At this, Juno sits up in his chair. "Did the school call the guards?" Nar nods. "She fled before they arrived. Guards can't do anything about her unless she tries it again."
It's at this point that Asuka stands. She approaches her brother, and places her hands on his shoulders. "Alright Nar. Before you decide to commit murder, and get arrested again, let me tell you what you're going to do. You're going to file a police report alongside the school, then, you're gonna get a restraining order on her. Once you do, you're going to notify the guards any time she violates it. You are NOT going to beat her senseless, or kill her." The eyes that stare back into Asuka's are still full of rage, but seem to understand.
With a nod from Nar, Asuka eases him back down into his seat. "Alright. We'll get everything squared away today, but you need to take a moment to collect yourself first. If you go into the guard station looking like you're going to murder someone, the guards might think Aki actually has a good reason for trying to kidnap Cookie." #rp

A heavily modified car pulls into an alley just outside of the hit zone. Four edgerunners step out, all on alert. In the drivers seat, “Blizzard”, a nomad, and the owner of the car. In the passenger seat, “Vixen”, a rocker girl, and the party’s face. In the back seat, the brother, sister duo of “Strawman”, and “Blackbow.” A towering solo, and med tech.
The four edgerunners skulk down the alley until they come across a reinforced door accompanied by a bio-scanner. Realization dawns quite quickly, none of them are a Tech, and they have very little experience with this kind of technology. The four discuss their options, but none of them appeal to the group as a whole. Just when the party was resigning themselves to having Strawman bust down the door with his Linear Frame enhanced strength, he lifts a hand. “Stand back, I got this.” The others ready their weapons. If they break down the door, it’s going to set off an alarm, and alert the building’s contracted security.
Strawman spits once into both of his hands, then rubs them together. After a deep breath, he thrusts his palms forward, and shouts “Open Sesame!”
The whole table pauses. Juno begins to chuckle. Asuka stifles a laugh. Ruby claps Nar on the back with a “You got this big guy!” Behind her DM screen, Scrappy’s head thinks against the table. She heaves a sigh, and is silent for a while before finally stating “Roll Security Tech for me.” Asuka sighs. “Plus two isn’t gonna cut it.
Dice are rolled. Nar cackles like a madman. “Crit, plus ten. 22 total.” Scrappy lets out a drawn out sigh.
“Access granted.” The security door slides open, admitting the edgerunners inside. Strawman looks as though he’s just won the lottery. A few minutes later, the group slips out of the building with their objective complete. They’ve got a big payday ahead of them now!

The band needed a hangout spot, and they didn't want to disturb the customers at Kisho's restaurant, so this had been their first pick.
"Bull!" Asuka nearly shouts, her hand slapping down on the table. A few other patrons at other tables look over for a moment before going back to their food. "You don't have a girlfriend! You're lying!" She points an accusatory finger across the table at her brother. "I'm not lying! I'm being serious!" He retorts, slightly defensive. "Oh yeah? Then show us a picture." Juno challenges, just as disbelieving as Asuka. "We haven't taken any together yet! We met in Vanhoover, and she likes her privacy!" Nar's retort causes Juno to shake his head. "Or, she's just not real."
Beside her father, Cookie ignores the back and forth. She's more focused on coloring in the activity paper the waitress gave her when she sat down. Nar will get no backup. "Oh you be quiet Asuka! You've been stringing Ruby, and Spins on for a year now! I don't want to hear it!" Nar jabs, with a playful tone. Asuka's mouth opens to speak. She inhales with a slight gasp, then her brow furrows, and she sinks back into her booth. Juno stares at Nar, mildly shocked. "Damn dude. You didn't have to kill her like that." Nar gives an apologetic smile. He seems to instantly regret his jab. "You're right. That was too far. My bad." Asuka shakes her head. "You're not wrong though..." Then, she grins slightly. "Maybe they should ditch me, and hook up with each other instead." #rp

Usually, Mel's was one of the less popular bars in Ponyville. It didn't quite have the 'Good old boys' feel to attract the older stallions wanting to 'grab a cold one with the boys'. Nor did it really attract the younger adults looking for the 'hot hangout spot.' Tonight, however, that was different. Attack on Mango was playing tonight, and for some, this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see them live!
The packed bar ripples with excitement as fans from the band's hometown await their arrival on stage. Sat in a booth near the back of the bar, Kisho, Betty, Hiari, and Cookie all sit, waiting with the rest of the crowd. All of them wear ear protection of some kind. They know something the crowd doesn't.
Excitement turns to confusion as Attack on Mango takes the stage. They aren't wearing their concert getup! Just their casual clothes! The crowd falls into quiet murmurs as they try to piece together what's going on. "Hey guys! Glad to see so many of you out here to celebrate my sister's birthday with us!" Nar's voice comes from the speakers placed next to the stage. "Before we begin, the bar in the back has earplugs for anyone who wants 'em! I'd grab some if I were you." The crowd is given some time to heed Nar's warning as the band undergoes a sound check. Once the all clear is given, they launch right into their set.

Behind her drumset, Asuka goes nearly feral. It's been a long time since the band's played any of their older stuff, and Asuka is thrilled to be able to cut loose. The entirety of the set is a blur as her muscles move on instinct. Such violence against drums, the crowd has never seen before. She almost can't believe it when their set ends an hour later.
After their set ends, the three rockstars join their family at their booth. A little birthday dinner was just what Asuka needed after such an intense set! #rp

View MoreFor once, the summer weather has decided to be pleasant, and not be as hot, and humid as Tartarus' armpit. With this once in a lifetime opportunity, the residents of Haybale street have all come out for an impromptu block party. Various outdoor activities have been set up all across the street, and the many lawns that sit alongside it. Slip and slides, inflatable pools, lawn darts (the safe ones), can jam, football, soccer, and practically any other summer lawn activity you can think of.
Food, and drinks have been brought out from almost every house. Soda, water, capri sun, chips, fruit, hotdogs, hayburgers, and more are passed out freely. Kisho Yakushi even has a little Takoyaki stand set up outside his house, with children crowding around to try some! A few yards down, Nar's daughter, Cookie plays in a pool with some newfound friends!
Outside Nar's house, the original four members of Attack on Mango finish their set-up, and get into position in the driveway. They've set up their equipment, and finished their sound checks. After all, what's a block party without music? At the front of the band, Roy looks back, heaving a sigh. Is it just Asuka, or are his eyes beginning to water? "Man." Toy huffs, shoulders slumping. "Feels just like old times." Nar, and Juno smile, and nod. Asuka rolls her eyes. "Oh shut up, and get ready to play, dork." Roy opens his mouth to speak, but the clack of drumstick slamming together silences him. Then, Asuka's voice rings out through the speakers next to the band. "We are Attack on Mango!" She gives a quick count in, then Roy begins to strum.

The moon rests high above their heads in the sky. Three tents have been set up a little ways from the campfire, where sleeping bags wait for the group when they finally retire for the night. Asuka doesn’t quite understand why Nar suggested a camping trip like this only a day after he returned from his search and rescue expedition, but she doubts he’ll give her a straight answer.

Across the campfire from Asuka, Roy strums his guitar, singing a song to his friends. Juno sits beside him, sipping on a can of beer, occasionally singing along. Sat next to Asuka, Nar gently strokes a sleeping Cookie’s hair as her head rests in his lap. Asuka can’t help but smile at the sight. Not only is it cute as hell, but she’s also relieved to see her brother so calm, and happy. When he’d returned from his expedition, he’d had a look in his eyes. One Asuka has seen too many times. One of deep pain, and doubt. She can guess his expedition didn’t go well.
After Roy finishes up his song, Nar gently picks up Cookie to tuck her into her sleeping bag in their tent. Then, he returns to the campfire, where he reaches into a cooler to remove a hard lemonade from within. Asuka’s jaw drops at this. Juno whistles. “You know that’s hard lemonade, right?” Nar nods. “I figure for just tonight, I might drink a little.” Roy laughs. “Never seen you drunk before! Looking forward to it!” Asuka grins. “You won’t be saying that when he had you locked in a death grip hug.” The group’s laughter fills the woods, as Roy picks up his guitar to start another song. #rp

A secondary big bad was defeated, and a city was saved from certain destruction. All was well, until they party returned to their base. Henry Buckets, the unwilling town guard husband of Asuka's Orc Barbarian, was murdered while the party was out. Just another knife in the chest for the party from the BBEG.
Asuka cannot. WILL NOT, forgive her brother for this. He might just be the most sadistic, maniacal DM she's ever played with. Which, admittedly, isn't saying much, as he's the ONLY DM she's ever played anything more than a one shot with. #rp

The handful of calls s... View MoreAfter a week with the Ponyville EMS, Asuka has been quite pleased with just how different it is from Vanhoover's. So far, she's not needed to work longer than one 12 hour shift. The handful of calls she's responded to have been fairly tame compared to some of the ones she'd responded to in Vanhoover. Well... Except for the one from Tuesday with the farmer, and his tractor. That was... Well, very stupid for one, but very gruesome too. At least he'll live.
Asuka sits with her driver in their station, sharing stories about their time in EMS. "So, what's the worst call you've responded to here?" Asuka asks her partner, taking a sip from a water bottle. "Easily when we had to take Old Man Horseshoe into Hospice." The driver responds. "Oh? Was it like, really sad?" Asuka raises an eyebrow. Her driver grimaces, shaking his head. "Bodily fluids. Everywhere." Asuka shudders. She can practically smell the stench. "What about you?" The driver asks, before Asuka can REALLY dwell on it. "Oh Solaris, where do I start?"
20 minutes later, Asuka's driver is VERY thankful that they've gotten a call. Asuka was recalling so many morbid, gruesome, and gut wrenching stories with such a casual tone that it was really starting to freak him out. As the two pile into their ambulance, he makes a comment to her. "Remind me never to ask you about your past experiences in EMS again." Asuka simply nods. "You got it." #rp
